CGRI Mission Statement
CGRI works to advance the use of collaborative governance as a means to achieve public goals by:
- providing an open, unbiased forum where individuals from the public, non-profit and commercial sectors can seek and provide advise, exchange ideas, and share their experiences;
- educating and advising government officials, non-profit organizations and the general public in the meaning and use of collaborative governance, a new form of public/private engagement;
- distinguishing collaborative governance from more traditional relationships between the government and private sectors;
- pursuing academic and practical exploration of successful models for collaborative governance, and serving as a clearinghouse for information, examples, and discussion.
Through these means, CGRI aims to enhance the understanding and adoption of collaborative governance as a new model for effective pursuit of the common good.
