Frank A. Weil, Chairman
Mr.Weil is Chair and CEO of Abacus & Associates a private New York investment firm. After graduating from Harvard College and Law School he practiced law at Cleary Gottlieb and then moved into investment banking at Loeb Rhoades & Co. He subsequently became CFO and Chair of the Finance Committee of PaineWebber. In the late 1970s he became the head of the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. Thereafter he practiced law in the early 1980’s as a partner of Ginsburg Feldman Weil and Bress. He has served on many boards –for and not for profit- notably Geico Corporation, Victory Mutual Funds, The Asia Society, the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard and the Smithsonian National Board, chair.
Mr. Weil helped found the Council for Excellence in Government in the mid 1980s and served as chair for 5 years. In 1980 he proposed and founded the Center for Business and Government at The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard and in 2002 founded the Weil Program for Collaborative Governance.
Neil C. Bicknell
Mr. Bicknell, a Chartered Financial Analyst, has 40 years experience as a financial advisor to corporate management relative to corporate strategy, profitability improvement and mergers and acquisitions. Following 13 years on Wall Street at PaineWebber, Inc. and Goldman Sachs & Co., he started his own investment banking business in 1987, advising buyers and sellers of financial information services firms. Mr. Bicknell is a former Trustee of the Village of Scarsdale, president of Scarsdaleās Town and Village Civic Club and founder and chairman of the Scarsdale Community Center, Inc. He served on the Boards of the League of Women Voters of New York State Education Fund and the United Way of Scarsdale-Edgemont. He was a guest lecturer on corporate social responsibility at a seminar for Lithuanian business people.
Lynn A. Jennings
Ms. Jennings is the Principal at Jennings Solutions, LLC, where she provides a broad range of management and strategic consulting services to private- and government-sector clients, including expert advice and guidance on policy development, program implementation, relationship building and stakeholder outreach, leadership training, business development and organizational issues. She has negotiated 3.5 million in weatherization grants on behalf of the National Community Aciton Foundation and ExxonMobil, and worked with the Target Corporation to develop a strategic approach for fostering public/private partnerships at the state, local and federal levels. She formerly served as Interim President and CEO, Executive Vice President and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the Council for Excellent in Government. She is a veteran of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and the U.S. Agency for International Development, and was a staff aide in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Nora Jobson
Ms. Jobson is Chief Operations Office at Spears Abacus and Abacus & Associates, where she oversees daily operations and oversight of internal control processes. Ms. Jobson began her career at Ernst & Young, and subsequent worked at Brown Brothers Harriman. Before joining Abacus, Ms. Jobson was Assistant Controller at Overbrook Asset Management.
John D. Macomber
Mr. Macomber is the principal of JDM Investment Group and was the President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States from 1989 to 1992. He was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Co. until 1973 and Chairman and CEO of Celanese Corporation until 1986.
Louis F. Nemeth
Mr. Nemeth is President of FRAX, Inc., a technology services consulting firm. He was formerly a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Bioniche Technologies Group where he oversaw development of a training and management platform for use in clinical drug trials. He is the former Senior Vice President of Mirror Worlds Technologies. Mr. Nemeth has also served as a legislative aide, and previously managed and consulted to political campaigns. He is a former aide to consumer advocate Ralph Nader.
Robert M. Raich
Mr. Raich is a co-founder of Spears Abacus, where he serves as President and functions as a portfolio manager, analyst and advisor. Mr. Raich began his career at Price Waterhouse LLP, where he served on audit teams for a number of Fortune 500 corporations. In 1998, he became a Principal at Raich, Ende, Malter LLP. In 2002, he was named President and Chief Investment Officer of Abacus & Associates.
Franklin S. Reeder
Mr. Reeder currently Frank writes, consults and teaches on leadership, information policy and public management issues after a career of more than 35 years in public service. He was previously a co-founder and chairman of the Center for Intenet Security, From 2000 to 2006 he chaired the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He is also a member of the Commission on Cyber Security for the 44th Presidency, and serves on the Social Security Commissioner's Advisory Panel on Future Systems Technology. Mr. Reeder formerly served at the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, where he was chief of Information Policy, and Assistant Director for General Management.
Norman C. Selby
Mr. Selby is a Senior Managing Director at Perseus, L.L.C., where he is responsible for Perseus' strategy and investments in healthcare and life sciences. Before joining Perseus, Mr. Selby was President and CEO of TransForm Pharmaceuticals He was also an Executive Vice President at Citigroup/Citicorp from 1997-2000. He was formerly a Senior Partner in the New York office of McKinsey & Company. Mr. Selby was Chief Operating Officer of the New York Blood Center. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Central Park Conservancy, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention. He is a member of the advisory board of the Harvard Business School's Healthcare Initiative, and a Board member of the National Parks Conservation Association.
H. Patrick Swygert
Mr. Swygert served as president of Howard University during the period August 1, 1995 to June 30, 2008, he assumed the position of President Emeritus on July 1, 2008 and is a Howard University professor of law. Currently, Mr. Swygert is a member of the board of directors of United Technologies Corporation, Hartford, CT, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., Hartford, CT and the Central Intelligence Agency External Advisory Board. He also serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African-American History and Culture. In addition to his academic career, Mr. Swygert has served as special counsel to the Merit Systems Protection Board and as general counsel of the U.S. Civil Service Commission.
Denie S. Weil
Ms. Weil is a Co-Founder of the Deer Isle Granite Museum in Stonington, Maine, and was formerly a Trustee of Radcliffe College, her alma mater, from 1972-80 and Overseer of Harvard University from 1981-87. She was a member of the Board of Management of the Harvard Club of New York City from 1984-87. In addition Ms. Weil served as a Chairwoman on the Visiting Committee for the Harvard University Divinity School from 1992-2000. Ms. Weil served as a Director of the Fiduciary Trust International, a global asset management firm in New York, NY from 1978 to 2005 and a Director of the Criterion Automobile Insurance Co., Washington, DC, and the Government Employees Life Insurance Co. of Maryland.
